Really enjoyed the holiday, a lovely cottage, well thought out and a terrific view. Plenty of wildlife seals, red squirrels, whales (orca or pilot) red deer etc etc and on the whole the weather was pretty good. First week sunshine everyday, second week varied. We found the farm dog very entertaining and the hosts were very helpful and jovial. oops forgot Eagles and buzzards! All in all SUPERB, thanks again Lynne and Tom, Kenneth & Jennifer, W Yorkshire, Oct 2020 – The Barn

Hi Lyn, Great holiday, enjoyed exploring the Island. It is a great cottage and lovely view. We wish you all the best for the future. Rev Anna & Ken, March 2020 – The Barn
Today I saw an otter. Only the second wild otter I have seen in my life (both on Arran) Other highlights – grey seals, oyster catchers, a curlew, dunlins, a sandpiper (I think), red shank, raven, hen harrier, buzzard, kestrel (or might have been a hen harrier), sparrowhawk and that’s the winter! I love this Island and I will be back. Thank you Lynne and Tom for your hospitality, Best wishes, Anne – Jan 2020 – The Barn
Fantastic week here on Arran! Weather has been on our side, mostly dry and sunny. Lynne and Tom have been fantastic hosts with good recommendations for walks. Our Westie Cody has loved playing with Lisa the Collie. Our two boys loved walking from the barn to the beach for a picnic. We spent hours down there!! Kings Cave walk was also enjoyable. Brodick Castle – loved seeing around the Castle. Pop into Arran Aromatics and Arran Cheese on the way back. Seen some red deer, red squirrel, seals and heaps of phesants. The otters are still hiding from us!! The Barn is comfortable, well equipped and cosy. Hope to be back, best wishes Lorna, Pete, Ewan, Elliot and Cody the Westie, Oct 2019 -The Barn

Fab week in the Barn, will miss the wonderful view especially in the morning with my coffee by the windows. Loved our wanderings over the Island (nothing too strenuous for the kids) Eas Mor forest walk with its waterfall, library in the woods and fairy pool was a hit as was Brodick Castle and its fab playground. Seal spotting at Kildonan was a thrill and King’s Cave and the walk through the woods was great. So lovely just to spend sunny days sitting on the patio and having a wander down to the local beach to search for shells and paddle. Lynne, Tom and the kids we will miss you and its been fab. The Kenny Family, April 2019 – The Barn

We have had a fantastic week here in The Barn, the weather has been great all week, the views from here down to Ailsa Craig and the sunset every night absolutely brilliant. The Accommodation is ideal and a great base for exploring the west coast. We have stayed on Arran a lot but this is our first time on the west coast and we will definitely be back. Tom & Lynne were excellent hosts and always there if anything was needed. Overall we have had an absolutely brilliant holiday and our wee spaniel Harris loved all the beaches and playing with Lisa the collie. Unfortunately we are heading back to the mainland today but we will definitely be back, absolutely love Arran and being here. Thanks again Tom & Lynne. Andy, Linda & Harris, July 2018 – The Barn
Tom and Lynne were extremely helpful during our stay. The Barn is beautifully decorated with ever changing panoramic sea views. Both the location on the Island and the positioning uphill was a great bonus. Arran does not disappoint. Ships – to track vessels – marine traffic.com, Beach – a walk down the track to the beach is well worth it (take a wee picnic). Drive/ wildlife – drive down from Lochranza is gorgeous, also great to spot wildlife. Glad we took our walking boots and binoculars. ps our two dogs loved their time too but both suffering a ‘walkie hangover’. We hope to come back soon. Best wishes, Ian & monique, Scottish Borders, June 2018 – The Barn
We have had a truly wonderful holiday. The Barn’s living space is light and airy and spacious it is so well furnished and equipped. Lynne & Tom have been very welcoming and helpful. It’s hard to recommend any particular places to visit as all our days have been memorable! Kildonan beach is lovely and sandy. The walks to Glenashdale Falls & Kings Cave have been lovely & not too strenuous! (although to Glenashdale Falls is uphill). Coire Fhionn Lochan was a bit of a slog but well worth. Views west and the Loch had beautiful white beaches. The Shiskine Golf Club house tea room for a coffee was very pleasant. We also enjoyed swimming at the Kinloch hotel in blackwaterfoot. The peace and tranquility (& views) of this farm have been a real tonic to us city dwellers! Thank you. Andy, Deborah, Joshua, Leeds, June – The Barn

Hope to return. Thanks very much. Alan, Aberdeenshire, Oct 2020- The Cabin
We are so glad we had this fantastic week especially as COVID seems to have returned. The Cabin was just the tonic we needed & of course on the subject of tonic what a view to have when sitting on the deck with a gin & tonic. The best view on the island and one of the best we have seen in the world. Thank you Lynne & Tom for being such wonderful people and reminding us what life is all about. Thank you for a perfect break. Back to Glasgow recharged. Kindness and warmth to future guests. Rachel, Ali and Diego, Sept 2020 – The Cabin

Another lovely week here at Mill Rink, this time here at the stackyard. The caravan is lovely and cosy and shows off my favourite view of Ailsa Craig to perfection. We should have been here in May but thanks to you know what had to be deferred. Blackwarerfoot is a wonderful place to visit, the bakery has yummy products and the village store stocks products which you wont find in many large supermarkets. We saw loads of seals at Kildonan (a must visit). Had a lovely meal at the Lagg Inn and lunches at the Lagg Distillery and The Byre. Thank you Lynne & Tom for your wonderful hospitality. Maureen & Mick, Northumberland, Sept 2021 – The Stackyard
We’ve all had a lovely week on Arran – Thanks for the comfort and warmth of the caravan, much better than our wild camping trips! Caravan had everything we needed and views over Ailsa Craig every evening were amazing. Highlights were seeing seals on the west coast, climbing goatfell, crabbing at Lamlash, lovely walk to Kings cave and finding a beautiful spot on the river for swimming at Catacol. Thank you! Alan, Lisa, Fin and Isla (Charlie the dog also loved Arran!), Aug 2020 – The Stackyard
We booked a trip to Arran for Easter 2020 which could not take place so we were delighted to be able to work with Lynne in booking for our long awaited holiday in August! We’ve had a brilliant week, fantastic weather most days including a clear day on the summit of Goatfell! Lots of great walks from the pocket mountain Arran book all around the Island, usually ending upon a beach or two! Our highlights were the walking and views of the Goatfell range, Coire Fionn Lochan, Kings cave walk, and the seals at Kildonan shore! We also were really impressed with the stone circle at Machrie Moor and Glenashdale Falls from the platform. Caravan was great and we loved coming ‘home’ to Mill Rink every evening and that view! Thanks so much Lynne and family for their hospitality. We hope to come back and will definitely recommend to friends! Adrienne & Family, Carlise, Aug 2020 – The Stackyard

Lovely tranquil setting here, Lynne & Tom lovely people. Beautiful Island. The Parks – Glasgow, Aug 2019 – The Stackyard
Only a few days on this amazing Island but had the best time. A few highlights were kings cave, Lochranza Castle, the deer at the nearby golf course, the walk up to giants graves challenging but well worth the view, the unspoilt hidden beaches along the southwest coast, the smart Lagg Distillery, did the tour and had food- V good, also good food at The Shore in Whiting Bay and Blackwaterfoot hotel. Thank you Lynne for your cheerful hospitality and the yummy scones. We will be back! Lynn, Lily, Fin (and Archie dog), Somerset, Aug 2019 – The Stackyard
We have really enjoyed our stay here in the caravan, despite the at times appalling weather! Its been the perfect base for exploring Arran. We recommend visiting Brodick Castle to see red squirrels (if you’re lucky) Arran Aromatics & selecting delicious treats at the Arran chees shop. You can drive around the Island in 3 hours, stopping off at Lochranza for the views & Machrie Moor for the rugged wilderness & 4000 year old standing stones. Thank you for your hospitality. Ps I recommend the crazy golf course in Brodick, it was a lot of fun! -Aisling. Susan, Heather & Aisling, Edinburgh, July 2019 – The stackyard
What a wonderful & relaxing place to stay! Thank you for your friendly welcome, Highlights for us have been the standing stones at Machrie Moor, Whiting bay & the Lagg Hotel for lovely meals, walks by the sea and in the forests have brought us peace & refreshment. Thank you, Ps Holy Isle good too! Ferry very much depends on tides though! Christine & Richard, West Yorkshire, June 2019 – The Stackyard
We had an excellent stay here at The Stackyard. It is a great view of Ailsa Craig, which looks like a volcano. We also loved going on the beaches and jumping over the waves! Arran cheese shop sells spectacular cheeses which have amazing flavours and we’ve been trying most of them. Coire Fionn Lochan is a beautiful place, which is surrounded by golden sand and wildlife . While we were staying at The Stackyard we climbed Ben Nuis, which is a mountain and had a great view fron the summit. We’ve also seen seals on rocks near Blackwaterfoot and many birds flying around the Island! Thank you Lynne & Tom for a very relaxing holiday we look forward to returning very soon – your kindness and hospitality is really appreciated! Thank you – Sue, Steve & Fiona, Leeds, June 2019 – The Stackyard
Thank you for our unexpected few days stay with you. We had a job finding but it was well worth it. You are so welcoming to a pair of dovy old nutters. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, everything was spotless and cosy and don’t forget the notorious scones yum yum. Sitting in the evening looking out at the view was lovely too. Almost like home, we look out over the river Tay from the road bridge to the railway bridge and across to the new V&A museum. Back on Thursday! Thank you once again. Frances & Rod, Fife, May 2019 – The Stackyard

One gorgeous day, One half good day, one mixed day and one dreich day, we have really enjoyed our trip to Arran and have swam in the sea at the bottom of the road here, where we also saw an otter. Goatfell and Kings Cave and a really good dinner at Lagg hotel. Anderson Family, Aberdeen, July 2018 – The Stackyard
Firstly thank you for the delicious scones, they were very welcome and didn’t last long! A very nice touch. We can’t believe how quiet it is here, its lovely & the view is stunning. The box of toys in the main bedroom cupboard has been a great success. We enjoyed a Chinese takeaway from Shanghai in Brodick, ate it in the play area at the beach there. Very tasty. The beach at Blackwaterfoot is lovely, the sea a nice temperature & a perfect depth for our 3 & 1 year olds. We’ve driven round Arran twice – once in each direction & spotted different things each time. Saw seals, both times between Pirnmill & Balliekine. Very exciting. We stumbled accross Frydays once a week fish & chip shop at Lochranza activity centre, It was brilliant, a hive of activity & delicious fish & chips, unlimited tea and coffee for £1. All in all a great short break & none of us want to go home! Thank you Coral for looking after us very well in Lynne’s absence & Lynne, we hope you enjoyed your holiday. Love from Jo, Kev, Josh & Bee, England, July 2018 – The Stackyard
