The Isle of Arran is one of the most easily accessible Islands from the Scottish mainland, taking 55 min to sail to the Island from the mainland port of Ardrossan, whilst Glasgow is less than one hour’s drive from the port.
The island is known as “Scotland in miniature” due to its mountainous landscape to the North and rolling green pastures to the South, depicting the highlands and lowlands of Scotland.
The Island is 56 miles in circumference with the majority of the villages dotted along the coastline. The resident population is approximately 5000, which can swell to over double this number in the summer season with the influx of visitors.
There is a wealth of activities available to visitors that encompass all interests and age ranges.
Whether you want a relaxing peaceful break or an action packed adventure, Arran can offer it all with activities to suit all interests and age ranges.
